Place the box of balls, stopwatches, and the 100 FT tape out on a table. Check that none of the balls have deflated (mainly the basketballs). There should be a ball pump in the cabinet that you can use to inflate the balls.
If in winter quarter, the students in the night labs will be doing this experiment in the dark. There are flood lights located in the storage closet, 1602, at the top of the Broida 1610 lecture hall in the South-West corner. Place the flood lights with the other materials on the table.
The students will drop the balls from the North side of Broida Hall (facing the chemistry building). Students should drop the balls onto the small patio area right in front of the double doors on the ground floor of Broida Hall.
To access the three floors, there is a door on the second floor that is facing North-East and it requires your key code. To get to this door, there is a large staircase on the Physical Sciences South Building that is facing west and right next to the chem lawn. Go up the stairs and walk towards Broida Hall (south) the door will be on the right.
There is also a door on the corner of the first floor facing North-East that you can use your key to open.
There is an outlet on the wall of Broida Hall where you can plug in the flood lights. They should be pointed toward the drop area.
